COUNTRY OVERVIEW:

Hungary is officially called the Republic of Hungary and is in Central Europe. It does not have any coastlines. Interestingly, despite being part of Europe (and the EU), it has a language (Hungarian) that is not of Indo-European origin, which all but four countries in the EU have. The capital is Budapest.

POPULATION:

Around 10 million.

ECONOMY:

Before 1990, Hungary was communist for 40 years. It has been successful in changing its economy to a market economy, and has plenty of foreign investment and foreign ownership of its companies. Hungary targeted its accession to the Euro for around 2012. Trade is strong, and the largest sector for the economy is private, and the corruption levels are very low.
