Iran is home to important reserves of natural gas and petroleum, which makes it a key position on international security and the world economy as a whole. Problems affecting the growth of the economy are unemployment and inflation. Perhaps surprisingly, tourism is a significant sector within Iran - it has been rated amongst the 10 most touristic countries in the world. Other sectors have seen growth - exports on the agricultural side include pistachios, dates and flowers.
