BOOMERANG PREPAID CARD REVIEW
Boomerang Prepaid Card - Prepaid Card
(Which Way To Pay - 29/10/2008)
The Boomerang Prepaid card has been specifically designed with students in mind. Working as other prepaid cards do (you pre-load the card with funds) this card also offers you the added benefit of acting as student ID because you can have your photo put on the card.

The card costs a reasonable 10 and is valid for 3 years. They've teamed up with Alliance and Leicester, and the benefits of working with an established bank are that you know your in safe hands and the costs to load the card are kept to a minimum.

The other stand out feature of this card is the reward scheme (rare for a prepaid card), you can get discounts at many retailers and on their Reward Site you can also get cashback (retailers include Dixons, PC World, Boots, M&S, Asda and many more).

So, the downsides? Well, unfortunately there is no card-to-card transfer facility, so it's not great if you were looking to share money with relatives or friends. Top up is only by standing order, credit or debit card (they're working on the cash option available in Dec 08) so some people may find that limiting. Overall though, this card is a great option for student spending (and for staying out of student debt!)
Boomerang is ranked 4 out of 5. Based on 1 review.
