The Splash card is fairly versatile, as a Maestro card it can be used worldwide at over 25 million retail outlets and at over 900,000 ATM's.
Availability to over 10's is one good feature, and you can buy by SMS too. There are a good range of ways to top up your account by BACS transfer, at Paypoint terminals, Online and most usefully at any Post Office.
It's also cheap to buy at only £5 a card and has no monthly fee.
There is a 2.5% purchase fee and the ATM fee is £1.50 so the card is best suited to users who will not use it too often.
