Travel Money Services Travellers Cheques - Travellers Cheques
(Which Way To Pay - 24/9/2008)
The travellers cheques service from Travel Money, offers some great benefits for advance ordering. You get highly favourable exchange rates for placing a forward order anything up to a year in advance. This means you can take advantage of good exchange rates when they happen, even if you won't be using the cheques until later.
The range of currency available is good (Sterling, Euro, USD, Australian, Canadian and New Zealand Dollars) and with a competitive ‘buy-back' service, you won't get left out of pocket when you return.
They don't charge any commission, and they also offer free payment, although this is only by online bank transfer. This service is secure and if you order over £300, delivery is free of charge.
So, downsides? Well, If you require a smaller amount than £300, you may be subject to a small surcharge of £5, and if you are unable to arrange a bank transfer then this may not be the right option for you (TMS do not accept debit or credit cards).  As they do not deliver to work addresses, this may not be the most convenient for everyone, but overall, with the highly preferable rates, and a little forward planning, the benefits outweigh any disadvantages.
